The most widely recommended creator webcam in our sources: four of eight outlets back it. CNET names it the best webcam for content creation, and PCMag makes it its best webcam overall (4.5/5, Editors' Choice), calling it 'the most capable and polished webcam you can buy.' WIRED found it produced the most natural colors of any webcam it tested, and Stream Tech Reviews ranks it #2 among the 4K webcams it has bought and tested. For creators, it combines sharp 4K/30, a 1080p/120fps mode for smoother motion, and full manual control (focus, ISO limits, white balance) in Obsbot Center. It also has a gimbal that can track your face, hands or a product you draw a box around, which suits how-to and demo videos. PCMag rates its mics among the best it has heard in a webcam. The catches are the price, which CNET calls 'really expensive', plus no privacy cover and only modest background blur (Stream Tech Reviews).

CNET's best webcam for content creation and PCMag's best overall (4.5/5). CNET found its video top-flight, with excellent white balance and exposure and fast, accurate autofocus. It likes object tracking for how-to videos, and PCMag's tester saw the camera keep up as they walked around the room. WIRED rates its color the most natural of any webcam it tested. Reviewers disagree on low light and 120fps: PCMag found low light good, but WIRED preferred Insta360's low-light handling and wasn't sure what 1080p/120 is for, while CNET counts the 120fps mode as a plus. Stream Tech Reviews likes its sharpness and colors but notes weak background blur and no privacy cover.
Best for: Best overall for creators: 4K plus 1080p120, manual controls and a gimbal that tracks you or a product - $309-349

PC Gamer's best 4K webcam (4 stars), which says it's the closest it has seen a webcam get to a professional camera, with a natural bokeh effect. Tom's Hardware (4/5) rates its image on par with the Razer Kiyo Pro Ultra once tuned. WIRED likes that you can flip it on its magnetic stand to shoot social-ready portrait video. It isn't plug-and-play: Tom's Hardware found the default image high-contrast and washed out, and PC Gamer adjusts white balance and turns off vignette correction first. Stream Tech Reviews says a firmware update broke its autofocus and advises waiting to buy until it's fixed. WIRED also found it buggy out of the box. There's no mic and no privacy shutter.
Best for: Recorded video and vertical clips where a near-DSLR look matters more than plug-and-play - $199-200

The 4K60 pick. Stream Tech Reviews ranks it #4 among the 4K webcams it has tested and notes Elgato was first to make 4K/60fps webcams. It praises the footage, the much-improved colors over the Facecam Pro, and the feature-packed software. Notebookcheck praises its extensive manual controls and 49 mm filter support for tabletop reviews, unboxings and gear demos. TweakTown scores it 95% and says it bridges the gap between webcams and DSLRs. Reviewers split on the image itself. Stream Tech Reviews found the narrow f/4, fixed-focus lens gives a 'very grainy' image, with a view too wide for any bokeh. Notebookcheck says it doesn't replace a real camera, the 90-degree view may be too wide, and auto exposure is inconsistent. TweakTown's main con is a 'flat image'.
Best for: Creators who need true 4K at 60fps, lens filters and DSLR-style manual controls - $159-199

WIRED's best webcam overall after testing more than 15 models in the same light. It says the large sensor creates a natural bokeh that mimics a DSLR better than any webcam it tested, and that it handles harsh and backlit scenes without blowing out highlights. Stream Tech Reviews, which tested the gimbal version Link 2 Pro, praises its impressive sharpness and HDR. It says the Link 2C Pro has the same image quality, adds a privacy shutter and drops the pan/tilt. The two outlets disagree on background blur: Stream Tech Reviews saw very little without software effects. It also says the image looks 'pretty meh' unless HDR is on. WIRED found a bit too much face smoothing and cool colors by default.
Best for: Talking-head videos in tricky light, with natural background blur from a large sensor - $199-200

CNET's best webcam overall (8.6/10), and WIRED says it 'very well may be the PTZ webcam that most people should buy.' CNET highlights above-average video, 1080p/120, object tracking that suits how-to videos, and better-than-usual audio options, including uncompressed sound. Compared with the full Tiny 3, WIRED found less natural background blur and weaker low light from the smaller sensor. CNET notes the mount doesn't tilt, so you can't counterbalance it on thin screens.
Best for: Creators on a $200 budget who want PTZ tracking and 1080p120 - $179-199
